![]() ![]() ![]() Release dateĬinema: Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens had its UK release date on Thursday the 18th December 2015 followed by the US release on the 18th December 2015, and if you’d bet your last Imperial Credit that it would be one of the most talked about films for the next year or so, you’d be laughing all the way to the Mos Eisley Cantina by now. The good news is that the film went on to be much more well received by fans, critics and movie-goers alike, and the release was one of the big movie events of the decade. With the mixed reception of the Episodes I-III under George Lucas’ watch, the fact that Lucasfilm is now in the hands of the Walt Disney company and the associated trepidation fans of the series have for the prospect of new trilogy, the opening movie had a lot to do to win everyone over. You can check out the trailer below if for some reason you’ve missed all of the media attention the film has had, but for now the clock is ticking for the return of the Jedi masters and their Sith nemeses to home entertainment. With the name confirmed, cast announced, release date come and gone and the Force memory of the fun-filled 7th entry in the series on the big screen still strong with this one it’s time to start thinking about adding it to the DVD, Blu-ray or digital download collection. ![]() Cue the music, tee up the scrolling text and grab your trusty light sabre, because Star Wars: The Force Awakens is upon us. ![]()
